Let me share a glimpse into a story I know about frogs…

Once upon a time, Grandmother told me

a story about frogs…

Close-up of a frog's head, showing textured brown skin and large, dark eyes with a hint of gold.

I was having some big stormy feelings,
and my thoughts were spinning out of control.
It felt so awful.
I thought maybe my head might blow off.
It was very confusing in my body.
And Grandmother was watching me…

A pair of hands holding a large pile of shining gold coins.

After awhile,
Grandmother suggested frogs might help.
You see, frogs can sit very still;
quiet as they breathe in and out,
noticing the world around them.
Maybe, Grandmother was right.

Silhouette of two children riding bicycles against a sunset background.

So I gave it a try.
Noticing my breath in and then my breath out. Sitting as still as I could.
Resting quiet.

Passing clouds carried my worry thoughts away. My feelings started to shift,
like the changing weather.

Dark abstract background with small circular lights.

Ummm…
That actually feels a bit better.
I’m calmer.

Thanks Grandmother.

That was a good story!

With gratitude to photographer Angi Wallace (United Kingdom) for the licensed frog photographs that helped bring this story to life.

I hope you enjoy exploring her beautiful work as much as I have.
